AIS is proud to announce the selection of Steve Suing, Practice Manager for our Durham, NC office, for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award.
ESGR, a Department of Defense office, was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee’s military commitment. The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support Citizen Warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families and granting leaves of absence if needed.
This award was presented in recognition of Mr. Suing’s support of Colonel Stephan Iacovelli who has worked with AIS since 2013. Colonel Iacovelli enlisted in the Army in 1984 and was commissioned as an Engineer in 1989. He has served in various leadership and staff positions over his 32-year career and is currently the Commanding Officer of an Initial Entry Training Brigade stationed at Ft. Jackson, SC. Read More…

Last week,Microsoft proudly announced the 2013 EastRegion Partner Award winners during a ceremony at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) in Houston, TX.
“The 2013 East Region Partner Award Winners represent some of the best and brightest our ecosystem has to offer,” said Jack Braman, Vice President, East Region Small and Midmarket Solutions and Partners (SMS&P), Microsoft Corporation. “We applaud our winning partners for their incredible focus, passion and dedication to solving the most pressing technology challenges facing our mutual customers today.”
AIS was recognized with the 2013 Microsoft Mid-Atlantic Cloud Practice Award. We were honored among the top Microsoft partners for providing outstanding solutions and services based upon Microsoft technologies, as well as fostering superior customer engagement in the Mid-Atlantic. The Cloud Practice Award recognizes “an innovator in the area of Cloud in their respective market. Their MS Cloud strategy components include Azure, CRM Online, BPOS/OFF365, IaaS/PaaS/SaaS/Private cloud. Partner must have adopted at least one MS cloud solution for internal use.”
Microsoft presents Field Partner Awards in 13 categories, with honorees selected from more than 200 organizations across the East Region.
“As a dedicated leader in Mid-Atlantic Cloud Practice, AIS is incredibly deserving of this award,” said Jack Braman. “AIShas a proven track record of consistent excellence in its service to commercial customers throughout the Mid-Atlantic.”
We’re honored to announce that AIS’ own Media Center app won an Appy award for “Coolest App” at the SharePoint MVP Summit 2013. Media Center is a SharePoint app that allows you to integrate your Windows Azure Media Services (WAMS) assets in SharePoint. And we agree that it’s pretty darn cool.
For the second year in a row, AIS is proud to announce our ranking on the Inc. 5000 List of America’s Fastest-Growing Companies. We’ve grown 47% over the past three years and hired 80 new employees in our quest to best serve our clients. We’re honored to be ranked shoulder-to-shoulder with other great companies and entrepreneurs.
As always, though, we’re looking forward. Just this week, AIS attained our fourth AND fifth gold competencies in the Microsoft partner program, in the areas of Business Intelligence and Application Integration.
This achievement is an important benchmark in the competitive world of Microsoft technology partners. Each gold competency requires five customer references, numerous developer exams and other objectives. Joining our other areas of competencies — Software Development, Web Development, Portals and Collaboration (and the sub-category of Cloud Accelerate) — BI and Application Integration give AIS a well-rounded portfolio of expertise and opens new opportunities in the partner channel, including advisory councils and boards within Microsoft.
According to AIS President Tom O’Connell, “This is a testament to the depth and breadth of our experiences. Even though Microsoft dramatically expanded the type and number of certifications and client references, we have quickly reached five gold competencies with our personnel and projects. We applaud Microsoft setting a higher bar so that we can differentiate ourselves.”
Congratulations to the entire AIS team and everyone who helped make these achievements and recognition possible!

Honorees were selected from more than 200 organizations across the East Region, and AIS was recognized as the 2012 East Region Azure Circle Partner of the Year for our innovative cloud applications at Pandora Jewelry, Bondi Publishing and PSI International. AIS architected, designed and developed solutions that leveraged Azure as a key part of the systems.
AIS was also recognized as the 2012 Cloud Practice Partner of the Year for the Mid-Atlantic district based on the projects we’ve delivered, as well as our ability to support the Microsoft field account teams as they work to educate their customers on the features and value Azure provides.
